I love women’s ministry! Women’s ministry is the only place in the church where all women can feel equally welcomed, needed and important to the work of the kingdom. Whether you are married, single or your husband just doesn’t attend church, women’s ministry provides a place where all women can come together for fellowship, Bible study and ministry opportunities.
When I began leading women’s ministry in 2009, I didn’t know anything about how to lead it. I thought women’s ministry was merely about planning women’s conferences and retreats, and that I knew, was not enough. I wanted so much more for our women. I wanted them to know God’s Word, and to be challenged by it. I wanted them to understand their Spiritual gifts and their calling, and with that knowledge be engaged in kingdom work.
Since those meager beginnings, we’ve come a long way, and I’ve learned a few things along the way, too, that I believe are worth sharing. I often attend women’s ministry conferences, which I love, but I also realize that they don’t always speak to the majority of the women’s ministry leaders. Most conferences bring in directors from large or mega churches, whose experiences do not reflect the multitude of challenges for the majority of America’s churches.
With that thought in mind, I began blogging a special weekly feature called Women’s Ministry Wednesday. These posts provide ideas for organizational structure, strategic planning and tips for a multitude of women’s ministry-related ideas. Please feel free to browse through those posts, and I pray they will be of help to you.
Throughout my women’s ministry journey, I’ve come across some other like-minded women’s ministry leaders. As such, we have created a network of Must-Follow Women’s Ministry Leaders on Pinterest. I hope you will check us out! Simply click on our badge below, after reading my bio below.
So, who am I, and what qualifies me to be a Must-Follow Women’s Ministry Leader on any platform? Well, I would have to start by saying that is God’s calling in my life that qualifies me for any participation in ministry that I enjoy. After that, I would say that I am dedicated to the ministry of the New Testament Church. I want it to be an effective, working body just as Christ intends. I want to be helpful to other women’s ministry leaders in order to help them serve their local churches more effectively.
I served on staff at my church as Director of Women’s Ministry from 2009 to 2016. I have a B.S. in Organizational Leadership and am finishing my Associates in Ministry. I am a content provider for Jennifer Rothschild’s WomensMinistry.net and iDisciple. Lastly, I am the award-winning author of Organizing Your Prayer Closet, which enables its readers to have a more effective prayer life. These, I guess, are my technical qualifications.
But, in the end, I, along with the other women whom are collaborators of this Must-Follow Women’s Ministry collaborative board just have a heart to help those whom have a heart to serve the women in their local church body. And, it is our pleasure to serve you. I look forward to getting to know our readers and building long-lasting relationships.
Many blessings,
