Women’s Ministry Tip: How Small Women’s Ministry Teams Pull off Large Events

January 20, 2016 by Gina | Leave a Comment

WOMMINWED.JPG

Just because you have broad shoulders it does not mean that you should try to carry it all.  This applies to life, burdens and responsibilities whether in the home, at work or in church.  There have been times in my role as Director of Women’s Ministry where I was doing it all.  Not because I am just that good or a “super” Christian even, but because I didn’t think anyone else could help me.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

When your women’s ministry team is small, consider these three tips for involving others to help you and your team pull off large events:

  • Ask women with special giftings, talents or expertise for the needed job to help. Let’s say that you need to advertise your event but you are challenged in this area.  Consider those who are marketing professionals in your church or those with the gift of exhortation.  People love using their spiritual gifts and talent, and it just may introduce them to a new ministry they have been overlooking.
  • Ask other ministries that specialize in your area of need to help. So you’re hosting an event, but you do not have enough women to greet guests.  Consider your greeter’s ministry.  More than likely they have had special training and are well equipped for this area of need – check that off your list!
  • Tap other groups of people. Can the youth or senior adults help?  Perhaps you have noticed a teen or special senior adult with a helpful spirit.  Not only may this provide a solution to your problem, but it will probably encourage that youth or honor that senior adult.

None of these tips are rocket science; it is simply how the Lord works through the body of Christ.  When a need arises, the Holy Spirit orchestrates His people to achieve His initiatives.  Likewise, let it be so in women’s ministry.

But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. Exodus 17:12

Spur on!
