Church alone can be a hard place for single women. You are surrounded by many married-with-kids couples. The majority of churches do not have effective singles ministries. So, add the dread of Valentine’s Day on top of a Sunday no less, and it can become a downright depressing day.
In the absence of a singles ministry, sometimes the Women’s Ministry meets the ministry need of this important group of women. I’ve got 4 very do-able ideas for ministering to your single ladies.
- Send them a bouquet of flowers – Send it to their job on Friday or their home on Saturday, or better yet, bring a nice bouquet to Church to share.
- Host a group dinner – Have a private dinner party in your home. Serve up good food and lots of laughter
- Facilitate an outing – This year you could go right after church, and maybe enjoy some shopping or movie.
- Shower them with cards. Everyone loves happy mail, so feel free to send really unique cards and include a really nice note.
Of course, we don’t have to wait for a holiday to support our single gal pals, but this is a good start. Please share your ideas in the comment’s section.
