Prayer is boring {gasp!}, to some. Let’s be real, how many people show up for prayer meetings? Attendance is typically lower for prayer retreats and conferences than other women’s ministry events. I get it. Really, I do. Prayer is quite. It is a One-party show. It’s intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be.
One of my book’s selling points to my publisher was the fact that people are spending tons of money every year for planners to prioritize their worldly lives, and I bet if they had my resource, they would also prioritize their spiritual lives. Prayer is about managing our lives according to God’s leading. No one else is going to manage ourselves, so it would behoove us to do it. Right???
Part of my planning activities for prayer includes decorating my weekly worksheet, a.k.a. the Prayer Closet Organizer. It’s a lot of fun and draws me to my prayer journal daily. Perhaps you need such a help?
All you need is some scrapbooking materials (betcha got some, too!), washi tape and stickers. Mix and match, then apply to your prayer journal. You will be surprised by how creative you are and how ready you are to pray. That’s why I formed the hashtag #plantopray
In case you need some inspiration, here are some of my latest favorite setups in my structured prayer journal…
Happy Prayer Journaling!
