When you are enduring persecution, burn the edges of your payer journal.
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. 1 Peter 4:12
Dear friends, persecution will come, and has come, and is come, so we must not look at its presence as something weird. Though, I must say, I find persecution of the saints of God odd, considering we are truly a people of love, faith and hope in the perfection of Jesus Christ. Because I know the truth of who God is, and have experienced His goodness in my own rebel life, I can hardly fathom the number of people who do not get it!
But they don’t get it, and because of that, we will always be a persecuted people. As such, we must not respond to it with an attitude of hopelessness. Yet, stand firm and secure in your faith because your persecution is a result of a loud faith.
Loud faith comes from those whom are not ashamed of the cross, so rejoice that you are counted worthy of such persecution. Celebrate it by burning your prayer journal (now THAT sounds really odd, don’t you think???). You can burn a corner or as much of the edges of your weekly worksheet that works for you.
