Thursday’s Things // God Will Restore

September 25, 2014 by Gina | 2 Comments

I weep because of these things; my eyes flow with tears. For there is no one in sight who can comfort me or encourage me. My children are desolated because an enemy has prevailed. Lamentations 1:16

Are you discouraged by the isolating feelings created from your failings? Jerusalem, overcome with guilt over sin, felt totally dejected and alone in her misery. It seems as if not only God, but anyone else who could provide relief for her soul, was out of reach. It is when we are at our lowest place of guilt, shame and embarrassment we most need the affirmation of others.

Affirming Words, Restoration

Even though we may be alone in our situation because we dare not share the story behind our guilt, shame and embarrassment, we can trust God for His promise of restoration; restoration from feeling less-than.

In our lowest moments it may be difficult to expect our restoration moments because we feel no real hope for the future. We assume that the enemy has won, and that we are finished. But just like in every scenario played out in scriptures for God’s people, we will be restored, one way or the other, and it may happen in a moment. Look for it!
