As you begin to see a common thread in your payer journal, whether it be in the Ears that Hear section or another, tape a thread to that entry and all similar entries. Use the same color of thread to easily follow each entry.
A common thread is woven through the books of the Bible, binding them together. A narrative arc, stretching from the beginning of all things in Genesis to the renewal of all things in Revelation, brings an essential unity to the Scriptures. (Four Things You Should Know About the Bible from Biblica.com, February 5, 2014).
Likewise, God threads the story of lives to His with many divine moments that can be captured in prayer. It’s important that we see it, and not miss it.
When I go back and look at some of these threads, I realize that God is sometimes confirming something for me. At other times, I see that He is trying to get my attention so He can tell me something new.
When you begin to see a recurring theme, pull out your thread and with a clear piece of tape affix it over your corresponding entries, using the same color. This will help you review the entries.
